|Many of our regular site visitors are lake property owners from all over North America. For that visitor group www.shuswaplakewatch.com has become an unique local source for up-to-date information about lake levels, weather conditions, and flood forecast, eliminating the need of frequent travel to this region to monitor the condition and flood danger factors for their properties.
Recognizing the importance of providing the current lake conditions to that visitor group has kept this site running for many years, clearly beyond the original purpose of publishing private research data and for the data exchange with government and other organizations.
After nearly 10 years of data collection, research, and publications, shuswaplakewatch.com is still the only web site providing daily lake level updates about the Shuswap Lake region on a non-profit basis.
Since its beginning this web site has come a long way to make all information fast and easy available to all our visitors. It would not have been possible without the overwhelming support and motivation I have received over the years. I would like to use this opportunity to express my warmest thanks to all my site visitors and supporters.
During the recent few months I have searched for ways to offer an even more and better service especially to lake property owners of this region. One of the new ideas is to establish another unique service:
Shuswap Lake Property Watch
Shuswaplakewatch.com could be the eyes and ears to your lake property during your time of absence. We would frequently go out to the lake, inspect and monitor your property, and report any unusual observations directly to you. We would also establish a section of this web site where you would have secure access to all the property visits, latest pictures, observations, and other information. In case of high lake levels we could even initiate first actions to protect your property from flood damage. The possibilities are endless and subject to bilateral agreements.
Considering the past few years of low peak levels, it might have brought your thoughts about property flooding to the background. However, conditions may change again in the future. This year could be such a year. That is why we propose this service today.
Of course, executing such a service has to require a small fee to cover the expenses. We do not intent to make a profit as this is the policy of shuswaplakewatch.com. We do not place a value on our time invested in such a service. However, the expenses for boat and fuel can not be carried by us. If you have a boat available in the lake you would be able to grant occasional use for this service, we would be able to reduce the cost significantly to all interested cabin and property owners, and naturally eliminate any cost for you.
As of today, this service is still a proposal depending on the interest and acceptance. We are open to any suggestions, questions, and ideas in this regard. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
I am also prepared to send you a detailed background info about myself to establish a basis of trust.
If you are interested in such a service please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or post a reply to this topic here. I will be answering all your questions as fast as possible.
Thanks for your consideration and for visiting shuswaplakewatch.com.
